There is a part of the brain that processes your emotional response. It’s called the Amygdala.

It’s the part of your brain that produces oxytocin when you think about the love and care that your mother blessed you with. Or induce an adrenergic response when you think about a sharp knife perforating your stomach.

If your amygdala can’t understand what it is that you’re telling it, it doesn’t feel anything.

So if you choose to do shit that is totally technical, esoteric beyond words or incoherent, you’ll probably struggle to get people to care.

For me, making art is about saying something that makes sense to the amygdala, because art is better when people get it.
